This is a wonderful piece of Centennial cloth.  Printed for the celebration of our nation's Centennial it dates to 1876.  It measures 8 inches by 24 1/2 inches.  In one square is a shield that says "PEACE" with the date 1876.  In the alternating square are a gun and sword crossed with a hat atop with the date 1776.  Printed horizontally are the words "ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL".  Printed vertically are the words "SAIL ON O UNION STRONG AND GREAT".  This fabric feels very crisp which makes me think it may never have been washed and maybe never even used.  A very rare find!
