The quilt measures 74” by 89”. The small hexies are 1 1/4” and create the mosaic. They are separated by hexies made of muslin. There are flying geese borders on all 4 sides. Excellent variety of nice early fabrics. Binding is applied and seems to be the same muslin as the backing and the ground. There is no batting and it is hand quilted. It is signed “Mary A Mitchel”and dated May 1857. Overall condition is excellent.
