This stunning quilt has an embroidered date 1851 and the name E. Seibe.  It has a beautiful chintz border about 8 inches deep which is on three sides.  The quilt is nicely hand pieced with sharp points on the stars.  The hand quilting has 8-9 stitches to the inch.  There are quilted scallops, chevrons, flowers and hanging diamonds.  The fabric on the back is a nice chocolate brown strip and the binding is rolled from the back and hand stitched to the front.  The batting is thin.  Cotton and Chintz.  88" x 106".
