Here is a wonderful multi-generational quilt with provenance. Measuring 82” X 89” the top is a strip quilt, Wild Goose Chase (BB 480 variation). Strips of brown and green print geese set in deep purple print alternating with pink and white ombre delicate floral print strips; 1857; Label documenting age of quilt reads: "Mrs Guy Coats from her Aunt Amanda L. Hobart who Pieced it in 1857". The fabric used for the back is circa 1870’s. This quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted aat 7-8 stitches per inch. The binding is front to back and there is no batting. Condition is unused, absolutely pristine.
