Red and Gray French Fabric circa 1860

$125.00

Circa 1860 this is a piece we found in the South of France. It measures 32 inches selvage width and is 40 inches long. The sides have stitch threads that show it was once hand sewn to something and there are some holes and slight yellowing along the bottom edge. I’ve shown close ups in the last several pictures. I would describe the red as a bright true red. The grey provides a lovely contrast. The figural scene is a woman with her staff herding sheep. There is a girl helping her. They are framed by flower cover trellis. This is a nice sturdy cotton that one could use. It’s also just great for adding to your collection.
