Rare Antique French Purple Toile William Tell Circa 1815

$395.00

This toile is in exquisite condition for its age. It is a copper plate printed on woven cotton. Selvage width 32” and length is 44”. The repeat is at 22 1.2” so this piece is just a couple of inches shy of two full repeats. I have photographed each section which is why it looks like there are duplicate photos. I wanted to make sure you could see the incredible condition. The subject of this toile is William Tell, or Guillaume Tell as it is printed on the toile. It was printed by Favre Petitpierre et Cie Circa 1815. The lines of this printing are very clear and the color is a rich purple. I don’t see any stains, holes, signs of previous stitching or mends. A rare find for sure!
