I love the birds and butterflies in this toile. I date it to circa 1840-50. I found it in the South of France. It was lightly quilted at some point in its life as you can see some stitching lines here and there. There is also a little bit of browning at the lower edge which I’ve shown in the photos. The selvage width is 32” and the length of this piece is 18” which is one repeat.
