It’s not easy to find purple toiles. This panel is made of small pieces of this wonderful antique French toile with birds and fruit. According to the Mullhane Museum of Printed Textiles this toile was printed in Mullhane and dates to 1830. It is a cotton. This panel measures 18 1/2” wide and 86” long. It is backed with a loosely woven linen which is brought to the front for the binding, and it is lightly quilted. There are a few tiny rust spots at the top and one larger toward the lower end. There is also some wear at the lower right corner edge. I have photographed each of these.
